What to include

  • The version and build, from Help → About Showout.
  • Your Linux distribution and its version.
  • Your GPU and driver version.
  • What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
  • For a playback problem, the clip's codec and resolution.

After a crash

  1. Relaunch Showout. A CRASH REPORT banner appears.
  2. Choose REVIEW DETAILS, then EXPORT REPORT.
  3. Open Help → Diagnostics… and choose OPEN FOLDER.
  4. Attach crash-report.txt to your email.

Crash reports stay on your machine. The export removes paths, hostnames, IP addresses, email addresses, URIs and live-source identifiers.

Common problems

  • No suitable fusermount binary found. Install FUSE 3, or run it without FUSE. See Install.
  • Slow seeking. Use HAP or short-GOP H.264 / H.265. Long-GOP files have to decode from the previous keyframe.
