Placement and warp are set per layer. There is no warp on the output as a whole.
Open the output
- Pick the projector in Output → Display. Auto prefers an external display.
- Press F, or choose Output → Enable output. The output goes fullscreen on that display.
- The top bar reads OUTPUT LIVE once the projector is showing the program.
- Output → Presentation Mode offers Default, Low latency and Smooth. A change applies the next time the output opens.
If the display disconnects long enough for the status to read Output lost, output stops. Showout does not move the program to another screen or resume output automatically. Reconnect the projector, then press F or choose Output → Enable output to resume.
Set the canvas
The canvas is the image the layers are composed on. Set it in Advanced / Setup.
- The default is 1920×1080.
- Presets: 720p, 1080p, Square 1080, Portrait 1080, XGA 4:3, WUXGA 16:10, Cinema 21:9, Dual 1080, Stacked 1080, Dual Portrait, Triple 1080 and 4K.
- Match Output sets the canvas to the output display's size.
- Custom sizes go up to 8192 pixels a side.
Show the calibration overlay
Output → Calibration Overlay draws a grid, crosshair, safe area and border on the projector itself. Use it to line up the projector, then turn it off before the show.
Place each layer
Each layer has a TRANSFORM section:
- Pos X and Pos Y move the layer.
- Scale X and Scale Y size it. Scale Lock keeps them together.
- Rotate turns it from -180° to 180°.
- FIT sets how the clip fills the layer: Contain (the default), Cover or Stretch.
- Reset clears the transform.
CANVAS PRESETS place a layer in one click: a 3 × 3 grid, thirds, quadrants, halves, or full bleed.
Corner pin
CORNER PIN moves the four corners of a layer, TL, TR, BL and BR, to match a surface seen at an angle. Drag the handles in the Output Monitor, then use the sliders for fine adjustment. CLEAR WARP, or the D key, removes it.
Mesh warp
Use a mesh for curved or uneven surfaces.
- Choose a grid under MESH: 3 × 3, 4 × 4 or 5 × 5.
- Select a point in the Edit point grid, or drag it in the Output Monitor.
- Adjust it with the X and Y sliders or the arrow buttons. Reset Point puts it back.
- RESET flattens the whole mesh.
The image bends smoothly between points. Turn on TEST SOURCE to warp a test card instead of your clip while you work.
Save the setup
Templates keep the canvas, each layer's transform and fit, corner pin and mesh. Save one per venue with File → Save Template As…. The test card is not saved.
Limits
- One output window, on one display.
- No edge blending between projectors.
- No 10-bit output.
Test the exact projector and cable chain before a paid show. See the getting started guide for installing and a first run.
